Objective: to bring together startups, partners, and SMEs to identify concrete use cases.

1. Scouting:
Call4Startup;
2. Selection:
Evaluation and shortlist of the most promising realities;
3. Matching Showcase:
Presentation by Startups to Partners and local SMEs;
4. Technical Tables:
One-to-one meetings within 1-2 weeks to build customized Use Cases;
5. Output:
Selection of at least 8 projects that will access the next phase (Factory).

Question 2

Phase 2 · Factory (Apr–Dec '26)

Accepted Answer

Objective: to take startups and companies from the Use Case to the operational Proof of Concept (PoC).

1. Setup (2 months):
Definition of objectives and KPIs, feasibility study + report and business case (pilot + roll-out);
2. Pitch Day (intermediate event):
Presentation of use case proposals to internal stakeholders and selection of 4 projects to access the next phase;
3. Execution (4-8 months):
PoC development, weekly sprints and checkpoints;
4. Demo Day (final event):
Final presentation of the results obtained and the concluded PoCs.

What we offer

Accepted Answer

• Grant: €40,000 for each selected project.
 • Access to ENI laboratories and sites in Porto Torres (for projects selected by ENI).
 • Industrial mentorship and business design (technical, IP/contracts, supply, compliance, unit economics).
 • Support for Sardegna Ricerche calls (MVP and New Innovative Enterprises) with up to an additional €160,000 for companies based in Sardinia.
 • Go-to-Market and Visibility: Matching Showcase, Kickoff, Pitch Day, Demo Day.

What we ask

Accepted Answer

Startup
 • Presence of the technical team during the key phases of the PoC in Sardinia.
 • Sharing of necessary data and tests, in compliance with HSE regulations.
 • Alignment on KPIs, milestones, and project objectives.

SMEs in Sardinia
 • An operational contact and access to data or lines for testing activities.
 • 2–4 days per month of involvement in sprints and trials.
 • Continuous feedback on integration and adoption readiness.

Selection criteria

Accepted Answer

Adherence to the 4 verticals
The proposed solutions must fall within one of the four thematic areas identified by the Call, demonstrating consistency with the strategic objectives of Bios and the partners involved.
PoC-readiness (TRL 6–8)
Technologies must have a level of technological maturity compatible with the launch of a Proof of Concept, therefore already validated in relevant environments and ready for field testing.
Measurable circular impact
The solution's ability to generate a concrete and quantifiable impact in terms of environmental sustainability, waste reduction, or resource efficiency will be evaluated.
Supply chain fit in Sardinia
Proposals must demonstrate potential for integration with Sardinia's industrial and manufacturing base, fostering synergies with local players and developing the regional supply chain.
Scalability and adoption potential
The ability to extend the solution beyond the testing phase will be rewarded, ensuring replicability and applicability in other contexts or markets.
Team solidity and execution ability
The team's composition, technical and managerial skills, and ability to effectively implement the proposal will be considered.
Safety and compliance
The solutions must comply with safety standards, current regulations, and any certifications required for the relevant sector.

How to participate

Accepted Answer

For Startups
Apply by completing the Call application form and uploading your solution's pitch deck. Selected startups will advance to the Matching phase, where they can engage with participating corporations and SMEs to develop a potential Proof of Concept (PoC).
For SMEs
Participate by proposing a specific technological requirement or by applying to host a PoC. Based on your expressed needs, we will identify the startup best suited to develop a targeted solution consistent with your innovation goals.
